Spearmint
The first recorded use of Mentha spicata dates as far back as 400 A.D. A native species to the Mediterranean region, spearmint was collected throughout the Roman Empire and valued for its pleasant aroma. Spearmint is referred to in the Bible as a tithe offering by the Pharisees. Romans cultivated spearmint and introduced it to the English during their conquests.
Spearmint can have a calming effect when used for insomnia. Spearmint has also been described as having excellent antioxidant properties.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
